They wanted this section to be a big gun battle, so it's a big gun battle, regardless of the player's actions. The main problem with this game is that someone decided their script was too good to allow the player to mess it up. They will know where you've gone and they will shoot you if you try to peak out. You cannot hide in buildings or try to move from concealment-to-concealment, whether or not they can see you is irrelevant. On the harder difficulties, enemies can track you through walls and do not need to see you to know where you are. The game will simply spawn enemies to FORCE YOU OUT OF STEALTH. This game routinely spawns enemies behind you, in places you've already cleared, and in inaccessible locations to force you into a gun-fight, removing the player's actions and decisions from the game-play loop. The only weapon accurate beyond spitting distance is the sniper rifle, but with the attached scope, it is much too hard to maintain situational awareness and to transition from one target to another. NONE (read: ZERO-ZILCH-NADA) of the mechanics support fast-paced, action game-play. The problem is that it is not a good action game. It is an action game masquerading as a stealth game. With that out of the way, is this a good game? No. This review is the same as I posted for the remastered version.
